COVID-19: Full Program

Main changes:
  • Made language around booster shots stronger, recommending that everyone who is eligible should get one
  • Removed age specific language around COVID-19 vaccines and boosters. Added link to UpToDate’s “The Basics: COVID-19 Vaccines” patient education page for current guidelines

Main changes:
  • Made language around booster shots stronger, recommending that everyone who is eligible should get one
  • Removed age specific language around COVID-19 vaccines and boosters. Added link to UTD’s “The Basics: COVID-19 Vaccines” patient education page for current guidelines

Defib (Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy Defibrillator)

Program Code: 167

Main changes:
  • Updated for accessibility and gender inclusivity considerations
  • Harmonized content with UpToDate:
  • According to UpToDate, some devices, like cell phones and smart watches, contain magnets that can deactivate a CRT-D. Edited to advise patients to exercise caution and check with their doctor before using these devices.
  • Updated content based on annual medical reviews:
  • Added shared decision-making information since Medicare now requires SDM documentation before a CRT-D can be placed.
  • Deleted specifics around what constitutes as a fever, since this can vary between organizations. Program previously listed a fever as 101°F or more.

Main changes:
  • Updated content with AMR notes
  • Included lines to clarify the difference between cysts and fibroadenomas
  • Added lines on BIRAD score for patient expectation setting
  • Emphasized that surgical biopsies are not an alternative to needle biopsies, only used first if needle biopsies aren’t
  • Rearranged several lines for better content flow

Insomnia and Getting a Good Night's Sleep

Program Code: 19294

Main changes:
  • Updated Emmi language style to make more concise
  • Updated sleep recommendations per the National Sleep Foundation and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine/Sleep Research Society
  • Elaborated upon circadian rhythm to make more sense
  • Harmonized with UpToDate
    • Added, “Or you have a few nights of poor sleep followed by a night of better sleep.” as one component of insomnia
    • Removed “a glass of wine with dinner is probably OK” since UTD content on alcohol and insomnia states: “Avoid alcohol near bedtime (eg, late afternoon and evening).”
