Main changes:
  • Made language around booster shots stronger, recommending that everyone who is eligible should get one
  • Removed age specific language around COVID-19 vaccines and boosters. Added link to UpToDate’s “The Basics: COVID-19 Vaccines” patient education page for current guidelines

    • Added “Second hand smoke may even lead to children developing asthma.”
  • Added to use relief inhaler about 15 to 30 minutes before visiting someone who smokes
  • Edits smoking cessation info based on language used in COPD, HF and Diabetes, Type 2

    • Added lines on tracheostomies
    • Emphasized that proxy only make decisions if the patient is unable to
  • Rearranged several lines for better content flow

Blepharoplasty

Main changes:
  • Edited to make less gendered
  • Additions per advisor to make more accurate
    • Differentiate ptosis/vision problems
    • Added mid-face to discussion of how eyes may look afterwards
  • Harmonized with UpToDate
    • Spelled out PRK acronym for patient understanding
    • Made sequence on anesthesia more clear
  • Updated blood thinner and NPO language
  • Added risk that the conjunctiva (the tissue over the white of the eye) might become swollen and push out from your lower eyelid
